In a significant milestone for sustainable industrial development, New Zealand Post’s Auckland Processing Centre (APC) has been awarded the prestigious 5 Star Green Star Design and As-built certification. This state-of-the-art facility, which commenced operations earlier this year, represents a groundbreaking achievement in the realm of green building practices and efficient parcel processing.

APC stands as the largest facility of its kind in the country, covering an expansive 30,000 square metres. Located in Auckland, this processing hub is equipped with cutting-edge technology designed to handle over 30,000 parcels per hour at peak capacity, showcasing a formidable capability to meet the growing demands of modern logistics.

Designed with automated processing systems and six advanced sorters, the facility not only enhances operational efficiency but also significantly reduces its environmental footprint. This accomplishment underscores a collaborative effort by a team of consultants who were spearheaded by RDT Pacific. Electrical Consulting Services and Thurston Consulting Limited were proud to be a part of this team to provide the electrical and mechanical designs.
