Nick formed Electrical Consulting Services in 1991 as the engineering division to support an electrical contracting business. He has been involved in the electrical industry for over 35 years and brings a wealth of experience and skills to the company.

Nick is strongly linked throughout the industry and brings a high level of value throughout a project. Whether it is negotiating with local authorities, master planning exercises for future development, finding solutions to complex engineering problems or ensuring a project is constructed to a high level, he is the person you want in your corner.

Outside of ECS you will find Nick running, cycling and skiing, with the latest highlight being a cycling tour through Africa.

Dave is originally from South Africa, moving to New Zealand in 2000 where he began work at ECS. Dave has been an engineer at ECS for nearly 20 years and has built a strong reputation within the electrical industry. Dave is an expert in supermarket electrical design and has a strong motivation to deliver the best designs for his clients.

If it is a nice calm weekend, Dave will be out on his jetski catching bigger fish than most catch from a boat.

Russ has been in the electrical industry for over 40 years. He has worked for electrical contractors, lighting suppliers and electrical engineers. Through this experience he brings a wealth of knowledge to deliver practical solutions and specialist lighting designs.

Russ is also a go to person in the New Zealand lighting industry and provides expert opinions and peer reviews for Councils on resource consent lighting and signage queries.

Russ is a car fanatic, so in the weekend you might find him at a car show or racing one of his cars at the track.

Doug is a registered electrician, with over 30 years of experience, having shifted to solely electrical design over 10 years ago.

With his strong practical background, attention to detail and contract management knowledge he is an asset to any project. Doug has a strong client focus and will go the extra mile for them on all of his projects.

When he gets home, he loves to relax with his family and look after his various animals on his lifestyle block.

Gary is a registered electrician with over 40 years experience. Gary brings practical solutions to all of his designs and designs solutions that electricians can actually install. Clients and Contractors love him because he will always go the extra mile to help.

Gary is our hands-on person who will install data logger at sites where we need to measure the power supply or investigate wiring configurations of existing switchboards or control panels.

Gary has a great sense of humour and brings a lot of laughter to those he works with.

Brent is a Chartered Professional Engineer with over 10 years experience. He has experience across a multitude of projects such as healthcare, education, commercial office, warehouse, industrial and high rise buildings.

Outside of work Brent enjoys spending time with his family and in the weekends you might catch him on his skateboard trying to keep up with his kids at the local skate park.

Craig has over 30 years experience in the electrical industry. Craig began in the Royal New Zealand Navy as an Electrician and then moved into the lighting industry in technical sales and then management. Craig moved to ECS in 2012 and is a competent electrical engineer who specialises in out of the box lighting designs and emergency lighting peer reviews and designs.

Craig loves cars, with some of his favorites being the VW. When he\'s not spending time with his family he\'ll be in his garage working on one of his cars.

Ross has over 30 years in the electrical industry. He has worked for a variety of different companies including contractors and consultants, so has a great understanding of how our industry works. Ross has great attention to detail and strives to deliver the best outcome for all of his clients.

After work he makes the long trip south of Auckland to his farm where he puts on his gumboots and looks after his herd of cows.

Dhushi has been within the lighting and electrical industry for the last 15 years. She specialises in lighting design which includes specialist lighting, emergency lighting, road lighting, resource consent lighting and day lighting.

Dhushi is our resident cake maker extraordinaire - some of her cakes are so good that you do not want to cut into them.

Sheldon is a qualified Electrician and holds a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering with over 7 years of experience in the Electrical Industry. He has gained both design and hands-on skills in numerous residential, commercial and industrial jobs. His strong work ethic, adaptable nature, communication skills, and ability to learn new systems quickly make him an asset to any team.

When Sheldon finds a break from his busy schedule, you will often catch him in the company of his two border collies or diving into home renovation projects.

Brendan is the drafting manager and brings his years of experience in the mechanical and electrical industries to provide engineered drafting solutions. Brendan strives for drawing excellence and is a major driving force within the BIM industry.

Outside of work Brendan is a volunteer fire fighter, so is always busy, but when he does get some down time his passion is for photography.

Dave is originally from South Africa and brings years of drafting experience to the team. He brings an engineering background to his drafting and is proficient in BIM and CAD.

Karen has been with ECS for many years and is one of our best electrical drafters. She is very diligent in her work and will go the extra mile to make sure her drawings are the best.

Karen has recently relocated to Taupo and has proven how efficient working remotely can be.

Krishi is originally from Fiji. He is an excellent draftsperson and is proficient in CAD and BIM.

Ramya is an amazing design draftsperson, specialising in supermarket design. She has recently completed the Massey Graduate Diploma in Illumination Engineering so now also provides lighting design input on the drafting she works on.

Rod is originally from Zimbabwe. He has been with ECS from the start and looks after all of the financial aspects of the business.

Outside of work he loves to play golf and is on the board of the East Coast Bays Cricket Club.

Kath has been with ECS from the very start and some may say is the glue of the company. She looks after the majority of the administration requirements and is Nicks personal assistant.

Outside of work she loves spending time with her friends and family.

Shan is a great asset to the team infecting others with her big smile and happy personality. She helps Rod to look after all of the accounts and you will likely talk to her regarding anything financial.

When you call ECS, it is likely Lucy that you will talk to first. She is an amazingly positive person who provides great support to the engineers in the office and to those that call on ECS.

Unfortunately work does not stop when she leaves the office. Outside of work you will find Lucy helping her electrician husband running cables or passing him light fittings or outlets to fit off.
